SOLAR ENERGY TECHNICIAN TRAINING

Edupro Solar Training has been established to contribute to the wider use of solar energy in East-Central Africa in general, the Great Lakes Region (Burundi, Tanzania, Congo Democratic and Rwanda) in particular, and thus expand the solar energy market into off grid districts.

Solar lighting in the off grid districts will give equal opportunities to students to study, reduce pollution, improve health facilities, and social life. The training is available to all stakeholders within the solar industry.

The sustainability of the EST solar training center has been ensured by the Master Trainer having trained 3 local trainers who are now capable of carrying on with the training of all Stand Alone Solar Systems and business courses operated by the entity.

Youth unemployment in Africa has become a major development issue. An estimated 95 million young men and women in sub-Saharan Africa, out of a total youth population of about 200 million, are illiterate and are either unemployed or engaged in precarious jobs as street vendors and poorly-paid workers in irregular and seasonal employment.

If education is the key to development, then skills training is the master key that can alleviate poverty, promote peace, conserve the environment, improve the quality of life for all and help achieve sustainable development.
